UMYF includes the youth from First United Methodist Church, Madisonville, and from Buckner Memorial United Methodist Church at Hiwassee College.

The current youth group includes youth from grades 6 through 12, but due to recent increases in the number of youth participating, plans are underway to create a middle school youth group (grades 6-8) and a senior high youth group (grades 9-12).

Annual youth activities include a winter trip to Resurrection at Gatlinburg, Tennessee and a summer mission project.

The youth engage in seasonal fund-raising projects and also lead a regular worship service.

Other opportunities for youth include handbell choir and a host of volunteer events.

Our youth counselors are Phyllis Harrell and Malinda Cooley. Rev. Braxton Cotton and his spouse Lyndie also play an active role in youth events and meetings.
